Flossing after brushing prevents the buildup of plaque from between the teeth and under the gums that can contribute to future dental problems.

Visit your Dentist Regularly

A regular visit to the dentist will always ensure you are maintaining a very good oral hygiene. Every time you consume food, acids will attack your teeth as frequently as every 20 minutes and it can lead to serious dental problems. If eating snacks cannot be avoided, it is advisable to eat nutritious foods such as fruits, cheese, yogurt or raw vegetables as it lessens the amount of acid that is release in your mouth thus reducing the risk of decay.

Stop Smoking

Avoid tobaccos and cigarettes if possible. Not only can it cause serious health issues, it will cause problems to your teeth and gums as well. Problems such as yellowing of the teeth, missing teeth, bad breath and gum infection are a few of the problems smoking and chewing tobacco can cause to your oral health.

Drink Water

Drinking lots of water not only hydrates the body but it could also contribute to a better dental health. Drinking water gives you a lot of good benefits than you might think. Drinking water regularly also washes away sugar and everything that has been trapped in your teeth because of eating and drinking sweet food or beverages. If brushing teeth is also impossible to do at a certain moment, a quick alternative would be drinking or gargling with water.

Combining all of these things would greatly contribute in achieving a very great oral health thus saving your teeth from all kinds of diseases that may attack it.
